Occupancy Motion & Humidity Sensor Lighting Controls

  • Developed the hardware architecture and board layout supporting multiple sensors and loads on one platform, consolidating 8 products into one and halving development time.
  • Designed a cost-effective, low-leakage power supply for older and newer home wiring, increasing product adoption.
  • Doubled sensor motion detection range and improved false-trigger immunity beyond industry benchmark (patent filed).

2-Wire TRIAC Dimmer Lighting Controls

  • Designed a product architecture solving LED dimming without a neutral wire, for both older and newer home wiring.
  • Developed two patented algorithms maintaining dimming stability across early-generation LED lamps and line-voltage disruptions.
  • Built a machine-learning approach (patented) to detect LED lamp internal construction from measured data.

USB Type-C Power Delivery In-Wall Receptacle

  • Developed an industry-first 30W USB-PD charging receptacle with high power density using QR flyback topology and an ARM-based USB controller (patented).
  • Designed the full hardware architecture to meet thermal and EMI requirements, validated by simulation across production variation.
  • Reduced EMI, footprint and cost with a patented logic-control circuit enabling smart power-sharing across USB ports from a single DC-DC stage.

IoT Lighting Controls (BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee)

  • Led electronics development for BLE, Wi-Fi and Zigbee-enabled lighting controls with battery backup.
  • Mitigated conducted and radiated EMI by optimizing power supply design; debugged complex systems over I2C, UART, BLE and NFC.
